In the book, Stegen traces the evolution of biathlon from its origins as a survival skill for Nordic hunters to a high-performance Olympic sport. He studies the physiological demands of combining cross-country skiing with precision rifle marksmanship, gives technical guidance on equipment, training regimens, and the psychological focus required.

The book includes an index of World Championship and Olympic results.

Very Good. Shelf wear to dust jacket edges, corners, and folds. Isolated 2-inch discoloration to the copyright page and Foreword page where the handwritten letter was inserted due to color transfer from a piece of dried masking tape stuck to the letter. Nice book with light shelf wear.
