Alfred A. Knopf, 1956. Yellow cloth bound hardcover with dust jacket of A Single Pebble by John Hersey.
"This beautiful, simple novel about China shows John Hersey writing in an entirely new vein... The central character is a young American engineer sent to China in the twenties to inspect the unruly Yangtze River for possible locations for a great dam."
Acceptable condition. This book has ex-library markings of the Scranton Dry Goods Co. Lending Library. It was copy number 3. One of those Scranton bad boys seems to have folded a page corner. It was apparently a somewhat popular read as the cover boards are slightly warped/bowed. As such, it is a solid reading copy.
