Random House, 1968. Hardcover of The Mystery of the Moaning Cave by William Arden.

Many years ago, the young bandit El Diablo disappeared into a cave, never to be seen again. Now an eerie moaning sound is coming from his old hideout, and the ranchers who live nearby think he may still be alive. The Three Investigators set out to explore the moaning cave-—and soon wish they had come armed with more than a flashlight!

Created in 1964 by Robert Arthur Jr., the Three Investigators series used Alfred Hitchcock's likeness to introduce the adventures of three teenage detectives from Rocky Beach, CA. Following Hitchcock's death in 1980, the series underwent a rebranding that replaced the director with fictional characters like Hector Sebastian, a detective-turned-writer. The books went out of print in the United States in the 1990s. However the series became an cultural phenomenon in Germany under the title Die drei ???, where it remains a massive media franchise with hundreds of original novels and audio dramas still being produced today.

Acceptable. Front cover interior hinge is starting to separate but is currently still attached. Chipping to the top of the spine. Slight lean to the top of the spine. Solid reading copy.
