Small Arms Technical Publishing Company, 1947. First edition cloth bound hardcover with dust jacket of Shots Fired in Anger: A Rifleman's-Eye View of the Activities on the Island of Guadalcanal by Lt. Col. John George.

A compelling memoir and technical analysis from the front lines of the Burma campaign during World War II. Drawing upon his personal experiences, George provides an insightful narrative that offers a detailed look at the challenges and realities of combat against the Japanese forces. Not merely a collection of war stories, the book stands out for its in-depth evaluation of the small arms and weaponry used in the conflict, blending historical significance with technical expertise. George's account goes beyond the typical war memoir, serving as an invaluable resource for historians, military enthusiasts, and listeners interested in the intricacies of warfare technology and tactics. Through his eyes, listeners gain a vivid understanding of the hardships, strategies, and brotherhood formed in the dense jungles of Burma.

Good condition. Large chips missing from dust jacket front cover, and the front cover flap is separated. Dust jacket is held together and taped to covers with a mylar sheath. End papers toned. Pencil markings to the front fly leaf. Isolated 1/2-inch spot stain of white bleaching to the top of the page block. Binding square and sound. Interior pages clean and crisp. Solid book with shelf wear and complete but flawed dust jacket.
