Krishnamurti Writings. Lot of 2 pamphlets titled Notes of Group-Discussions at Madras with J. Krishnamurti from 1947 and 1948.

Born in British colonial India, Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) was being groomed as a spiritual messiah by the Theosophical Society when he famously renounced that role, declaring that “truth is a pathless land.” Afterwards, Krishnamurti travelled the world as a philosopher and speaker urging people to observe their own minds and conditioning to find truth. He lived, taught and died in Ojai, California, which became a central hub for his talks, dialogues, and writings on psychological freedom and self-inquiry.

Hey, Old Al here. I gotta say, back in my California days, before becoming Old, I had visited Ojai on many occasions--hiking its trails, shopping its legendary yard sales, Bart's Books (of course), and using a fruit picking pole to steal its inhabitants lemons and oranges. While I was unaware of Krishnamurti in those days, I did visit his spiritual center as it sits ontop a mountain and hosts a beautiful garden, two things that I am oft trying to visit. Had I known of Krishnamurti then I might have extended my stay in Ojai by years, hostilely taking over Bart's Books for income. So it is better that I did not.

Acceptable. The 1947 pamphlet is missing its covers and is fragilely bound by string. The 1948 pamphlet is in good condition. Overall, these are worn but complete reading copies.
