Lewis Spence (1874-1955) was the author of five books on Atlantis; this one is considered his best work on the subject. It used to be fashionable to jeer at the existence of Atlantis but, as the Homeric scholar, Professor Alexander Shewan points out, "that can hardly continue, now that Mr. Lewis Spence has examined the evidence at length..."
