Edwards & Broughton Co., 1929. Cloth bound hardcover of Anson County in the World War 1917-1919: A Compilation of the Various Activities and Services Performed During This Period of Stress by Craighead-Dunlap Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Illustrated with black and white photos throughout. The pages are of a heavy, semi-glossy paper stock lending some weight to the book.

"The material for this book was gathered from the files of the Messenger and Intelligencer and The Ansonian, from the records in the Adjutant-General's office in Raleigh; from the volumes of copied discharge papers in the courthouse in Wadesboro; from the records of the County Registration and Exemption Boards, of The Anson County Chapter Red Cross, and of the Food and Fuel Administrators; and other sources which we believe to be reliable. Again and again we have made appeals through the local newspapers for information we lacked, and repeatedly we have checked the data in hand to insure its accuracy."

Good condition. Spotty wear to the cloth, mostly affecting its color, to the spine and back cover. Previous owner's name and date to the front fly leaf. Solid binding and crisp, clean interior pages. A good book with cosmetic wear to the covers.
