Non-Fiction, Religion, Philosophy, and Christianity
Presbyterian Board of Publication, circa 1882. Antiquarian cloth bound hardcover of The Three Questions: What Am I? Whence Came I? Whither Do I Go? by William Haig Miller.
Interesting fact: This title was one of the first two books ever published by Macmillan Publishers when they started their business in 1843. This particular copy, however, is a later reprint by a different publisher. But still cool to know.
The publication date of 1882 is estimated based on a previous owner's faded inscription to the front fly leaf. The binding and paper stock are additionally of that time period.
Theological treatise that explores the three fundamental questions of human existence from a Christian perspective. The work systematically addresses "What Am I?" by examining human nature as a fallen, sinful being created in God's image. The second question, "Whence Came I?" is answered through the doctrine of Creation and the belief that humanity's origin lies in the divine will of God. Finally, the question "Whither Do I Go?" leads to an exploration of eternal destiny, urging the reader toward repentance and acceptance of Christian salvation as the only path to Heaven and escape from eternal judgment.
Good condition. Previous owner pencil markings inside the front and back covers. Light discoloration to the fly leaves. Isolated liquid spots to the rear endpaper. Light spotting to the pages. Solid binding and covers. Interior pages clean and crisp. Solid antiquarian book with shelf wear.
