One interesting thing about this book is that it contains lots of memories of trees.
Derby, Connecticut, was settled in 1642 at the confluence of the Housatonic and Naugatuck Rivers. The small town grew into a key 19th-century manufacturing center known for producing hoopskirts, corsets, and brass products.
Good condition. Covers worn and discolored. 1-inch area of chipping to the cloth of the spine. Spine cloth also chipped at the crown and foot. Previous owner's name to the front fly leaf. Interior pages crisp. Light spotting to the pages particularly around the illustrated plates. Solid book with shelf wear.
