De Wolfe, Fiske & Co., Undated. Library bound photocopied hardcover of an undated publication, circa 1884-1885, titled The Art of Fiction.
The first part is a lecture by Walter Besant delivered to the Royal Institution arguing for the elevation of fiction writing "to be called the sister and equal of the Arts of Painting, Sculpture, Music, and Poetry."
Following Besant, the famous novelist Henry James responds with his own differing perspective in an essay of the same title.
Very Good. This is a modern photographic reproduction of an antiquarian publication, in library binding, in excellent condition.
