A classic story about Mary Lennox, a spoiled and neglected orphan who is sent from India to live in her reclusive uncle's manor on the vast Yorkshire moors. Bored and restless, she discovers a hidden, locked garden and, with the help of a local boy named Dickon, secretly begins the work of bringing the neglected space back to life. Through her time in the garden, Mary's health and disposition dramatically improve, and she soon befriends her sickly, isolated cousin, Colin. Ultimately, the garden's restorative power heals both children physically and emotionally, bringing them, and Mary's uncle, a sense of joy and familial love.
Very Good. Binding solid and square. Interior pages crisp and clean. Cloth to the top of the spine slightly pulled. Covers nice with slight soiling to the bottom of the spine, lower right corner of the front cover, and a small, isolated spot of grime to the lower back cover. Covers corners bumped. Nice book with light shelf wear.
