Lebanon, During the Late Cruel Persecutions in Syria; with a succinct history of Mahometanism, and the rise of Maronites, Druses, Wahabies, Yezidees, or Devil-Worshippers, and other Oriental sects; and an account of "The Old Man of the Mountain," and his tribe of assassins.

Includes 5 fold-out black and white engravings measuring about 16-inches by 9 1/2-inches each. The pamphlet itself measures about 9 3/4-inches by 6 1/4-inches.

Rare original pamphlet providing period commentary and perspective on the 1860 Syrian Civil War under Ottoman rule, fought mainly between the local Druze and Christians which resulted in the massacres of thousands of Christians.

Good condition. Well preserved pamphlet printed on newspaper. Slight bend near the binding. Stains to the covers. Back cover lower edge torn away. Edges frayed and corners bunched.
