This book comes from the library of M.L. Buchanan III, who served undercover with his wife in the CIA for 28 years on assignments throughout the globe. Prior to the CIA, he served as a U.S. Marine.
While, of necessity, some commercially produced powder horns are pictured, the emphasis is on home-made pieces. Such horns, though primitive in construction, were totally serviceable. Simplicity and individuality took the place of highly engraved horns on each side of the year 1800.
