The Monmouth Press, 1992. First edition, first printing large illustrated paperback of Fifty Years A Planemaker And User: This Being a Master's Guidance to the Building of a Wooden Handplane.
From the Preface: "This romance with the plane is not the story of one who has earned his cornflakes and milk solely from the making and using of wooden planes, but rather the story of one whose long life has been, to a large degree, the working of wood." - Cecil E. Pierce, Planemaker
This book comes from the collection of Edward Lebetkin, my father, and the proprietor of the antique tool store above Roy Underhill's Woodwright’s School in downtown Pittsboro, NC, which recently closed after a 14 year run. I am selling many more books from my dad's shelves that he used to research his inventory. If you are a serious woodworker, check out my store for more wonderful titles like this one.
Good condition. Solid copy with clean pages & some shelf wear. Isolated spot stain and area of rubbing to the right edge of the front cover.
