Macmillan Publishing, 1986. Cloth bound illustrated hardcover with dust jacket.

In his deeply researched and immensely informative dictionary R.A. Salaman brings to bear over fifty years' study of tools, trades, and tradesmen in town and country workshops. He describes every tool used in the woodworking trades over the period 1700-1970, explains its purpose, and gives his reader some idea of the graceful shapes imparted to the tools by the men who designed and made them.

This book comes from the collection of Edward Lebetkin, my father, and the proprietor of the antique tool store above Roy Underhill's Woodwright’s School in downtown Pittsboro, NC, which recently closed after a 14 year run. I am selling many more books from my dad's shelves that he used to research his inventory. If you are a serious woodworker, check out my store for more wonderful titles like this one.

Good condition. Solid copy with clean pages & some shelf wear. Some spotting to the right edge of the page block.
