Dr. Reuben Swinburne Clymer (1878–1966) was an American occultist, physician, and writer who lead the Fraternitas Rosae Crucis--a Rosicrucian organization based in Quakertown, Pennsylvania with roots in mystical, esoteric Christianity, Hermeticism, and alchemical philosophy. As a physician he blended spiritual and medical ideas, believing spiritual health was inseparable from physical well-being.

This work, published in 1958, has prophetic implications in the poisoning of the food supply and distrust in the institutions that are supposed to protect against that very deed.
