Grosset & Dunlap, 1939. Cloth bound illustrated hardcover with dust jacket.
This book shows you how you can make a workshop out of a kitchen table. It contains designs for every variety of furniture, toys, improvements for the house and garden, mantels, trellises, sail boats, lamps, bookshelves, blocks, bookends, etc., etc., some pieces so simple that they can be made by the beginner with relatively few tools, and others so elaborately turned, inlaid, or otherwise decorated that they will stimulate the ingenuity and craftsmanship of those who have small woodworking machinery and many tools at their disposal.
This book comes from the collection of Edward Lebetkin, my father, and the proprietor of the antique tool store above Roy Underhill's Woodwright’s School in downtown Pittsboro, NC, which recently closed after a 14 year run. I am selling many more books from my dad's shelves that he used to research his inventory. If you are a serious woodworker, check out my store for more wonderful titles like this one.
Good condition. Solid copy with clean pages & some shelf wear. Isolated spot of wear to the dust jacket front cover at the top right corner.
