This book brings together into one source as much information about marking gages as is known at this time. The section on patented gages includes approximately 350 patents for marking gages. Information on manufacturers and patentees also includes information on their personal lives.

This book comes from the collection of Edward Lebetkin, my father, and the proprietor of the antique tool store above Roy Underhill's Woodwright’s School in downtown Pittsboro, NC, which recently closed after a 14 year run.
