Flat Rock is village in Henderson County, North Carolina, and is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Area. Patton Community Park in Hendersonville was established on property donated by Mrs. Patton in the memory of her late husband, Preston, in the late 1960s.

This book includes a clipped newspaper review of the book hand dated from Nov. 13, 1961. The review notes Mrs. Patton's personal connection to Flat Rock through her grandmother, Elizabeth Barnett Rickman, who was an early settler spanning the Civil War period, and who personally related much of the history to the author.

Very Good. The first page of Chapter 1 has toning transfer due to the inserted newspaper clipping. Nice book with crisp pages and light shelf wear.
